The Neptunian INFJ

October 6, 2024 By blake@stellarmaze.com

This is the DREAMY INFJ type. Like those rare unicorns that don’t even exist. Too ethereal for human existence.

This is the classical INFJ that I heard a lot of internet unicorn people writing about back in the day, the INFJs that are too good and beautiful for this world. Rare and ethereal, floating away into the high astral heavenly spheres.

Examples of the type:

  • Enya
  • Mazzy Star
  • Syd Barrett
  • Jeff Buckley
  • Johnny Depp
  • Nick Drake

Physiognomy

Rarefied, fine, exquisite molding, non-intense, soft features, but with an unearthly light that is bewitching.

Style

Narcotizing, sleep-inducing, druggy, invisible, entrancing, psychedelic, bewitching, fascinating, subtle, mysterious.

Let’s go on a brief little tour of this type.

Enya

A lot of people don’t remember her, but she was one of the best new-age composers of her time. And she stands the test of time, because her shit is definitely better than the new-age drivel that comes out daily on Spotify.

I’d suggest listening to Enya’s seminal album Watermark. It is the epitome of this Neptunian INFJ style.

Syd Barrett

Syd Barrett was the founding member of Pink Floyd, but went crazy from taking too much LSD, got kicked out of the band, and then became it’s muse. If you don’t know much about him, then you should.

Johnny Depp

I happened upon the following Youtube clip recently and I thought I would include it here as a good summation of the life philosophy of Neptunian INFJ

Nick Drake

Listen to Pink Moon by Nick Drake. Don’t worry, it’s brief.

Find out who Nick Drake was

Jeff Buckley

Jeff Buckley was a mysterious musician that fell off the face of the earth. Here’s a little clip of him being characteristically Neptunian and elusive

Hope Sandoval

And finally I’ll yawn my way over to Hope Sandoval of the band Mazzy Star.

Specifically, I’ll direct your attention to her song Fade Into You, perhaps one of the most beautiful and haunting songs ever written.

It has all the hallmarks of the Neptunian INFJ style: slow, druggy, entrancing, haunting, unearthly beauty

In closing

These Neptunian INFJs are hard to know; they don’t like to be interviewed, photographed or found.

Depp is the most famous and visible by far of all the people included. In an interview with David Letterman, he said that he doesn’t watch his own movies, and doesn’t like to see himself on film.

It’s kind of conundrum.

It’s kind of a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma.

But if you have any questions, I’m sure I can answer them, so go ahead and leave a question or comment if you feel the need.

More next time!

Blake, I wonder if you see David Sylvian as a neptunian subtype. He‘s clearly an INFJ. https://youtu.be/R3DLafyWB60?feature=shared

On first blush, I see ENFJ because he reminds me of David Bowie and Axl Rose in terms of physiognomy. If he is not ENFJ, then INFJ. He might be a Neptunian subtype. My first impression is that he is a mix of Uranus and Neptune subtype.

In sum net total, from zero previous impression of David Sylvian, I’d say he is a Neptunian/Uranian ENFJ.

Jeff Buckley died (which is sorta falling off the face of the earth) in a very Neptunian way — he drowned. I kinda thought he might be INFP because of an innocence vibe that I don’t really see in many INFJs. Quite a bit of Scorpio in his chart.

Yeah, and his Neptune is in Scorpio conjuncting all those planets. The general rule in astrology is that planets take precedence over signs. In Jeff Buckley’s case, all those Scorpio planets are Neptunized, which would slant them more in the direction of Pisces, which would mean INFPish or ENFPish vibe. But he’s an INFJ, a Neptunian INFJ.

I’m an INFJ, Leo Sun, Pisces moon, Capricorn rising, but Neptune is my dominant planet. What type would that make me?

It would make you a Neptunian INFJ if both the following conditions are true

      1. You’re an INFJ
      2. Neptune is truly your dominant planet

If you need help assessing whether either, or both those conditions are true, check out my 4-Phase MBTI Typing Service to gain further clarity on the matter.
