Strangely enough, I find it hard to know what to say about the Venusian INFJ man. I could say that he has a highly attractive and harmonious face, but what I realized is that Venus lends itself more to the visual, and as such must be seen to be understood.
Take a look at the following Venusian INFJ men and see if you can notice a flow and a pattern from beginning to end. What do they all have in common?
Ethan Hawke
River Phoenix
Kurt Cobain
Johnny Depp
Billy Crudup
He is without a doubt one of the most pure examples of a Venusian INFJ type
Keanu Reeves
Well, what did you notice dear readers? What do all these Venusian INFJ men have in common? Leave a comment and let me know.

Hair.
They are very pleasant to watch. They are very charismatic, but a little aloof. They are as attractive as ENFJs, but ENFJs have a puppyish quality, and these guys are like wolf cubs. Long hair, yes, also like a wolf, a kind of shagginess. Some of them say, “I don’t know where this joke is going,” or, “I don’t know what I’m talking about.”
They have the exact same hairstyle! Also, they are very pretty in an angelic being way rather than the hot player type. Like prince Charming or something.
I prefer Martian and Plutonian ones as those Venusian ones are a bit too feminine and pretty to me lol.
Could you name some female Venusian INFJs?
Could you name some female Venusian INFJs?

Aside from their shoulder-length hair, most of them are known for being humble, kind, and uncomfortable with their fame.
In terms of clearly being able to feel most “true”/least “ick” to me, Cobain was far and well above the others. Then perhaps Depp.
Watching them makes me personally uncomfortable. Uncanny valley?
Makes my skin crawl for some reason.
I don’t usually watch interview-style videos, so not sure if it’s these particular ones you picked, but it was rough forcing myself to sit through rather than normally immediately quitting upon this sort of feeling.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not hating on these guys or anything (hell, I barely even know em). If I were to hazard a guess, it may be due to seeing certain bits of myself reflected, and that feels wrong/exposed.
Like glitchy micro-expressions.
Like a smile isn’t a full smile, it’s caught halfway.
Like they’re not sure of themselves.
Not sure what to do with their hands. How to commit a movement. Hands on chin or not.
Or insecure, fragile. Unsteady.
The Phoenix interview makes me sad because (though not necessarily that specific instance/example), when you hear him go off into a passionate (and very honest) answer, I can only imagine this type of person experiences this sort of thing a lot. Where they give a lot of heart & soul into an answer (especially where they didn’t plan to), and then inevitably, so many times I can only imagine the questioner/interviewers’ eyes kind of glazing over – or maybe the asker really does want to know, yet sadly it then soon becomes obvious what they’re putting down the asker isn’t truly picking up. So fuck it, let’s move on.
Also, while I don’t have many priors to go off of, Reeves surprised me with how leaky and unpolished he was. I always thought he was naturally suave and slick from the moment he was born, like old Clooney but in baby form, but perhaps that was the Hollywood marketing lol.

That whole bit around ~2:05 was such a leak, immediately triggering a very visceral, off-putting sensation in me for some reason.
Hard for me to put into words (I’m no writer!).
Would love to hear your thoughts.
In terms of clearly being able to feel most “true”/least “ick” to me, Cobain was far and well above the others.
This is interesting because Cobain is by a fair margin, the least Venusian of the INFJs on this list. Therefore, my thoughts on the matter are that you don’t like Venusian INFJ men. This seems to be a trend among Stellar Maze readers.
Hey Blake,
I noticed you’ve already listed Johnny Deep in the Neptunian INFJ category. Have you reconsidered it or does he share both qualities?
He shares both qualities. In his astro-chart he has Neptune opposite Venus. I’d say Neptune is dominant, but Venus is directly challenging this dominance. This could explain that though Depp was widely considered one of the most attractive male actors of his generation, he felt conflicted about the teenage heartthrob image thrust upon him in the 90’s. He alternates between Venus and Neptune. Venus is his public image, while Neptune is his reclusive and mysterious nature, the latter of which is his more authentic nature, in my estimation. The reason I put Depp in the Venusian INFJ men is because he is known for being very good-looking, and that’s pretty much how you can assess if Venus is the dominant planet. The very best-looking men and women will tend to have Venus dominance, or close to it. They have what facial aesthetics analysts call “high facial harmony”, which is around 70% facial harmony or higher. This puts these men and women around top 1% of facial harmony in relation to the general population. That’s why I put Depp here, because he was considered, in his prime, to be one of the best-looking male actors of his era. All the men included here, except Kurt Cobain, would pretty certainly be rated around 70% facial harmony or higher. Kurt’s pretty close though. He’s quite good-looking in the face.
Blake:
Would you type Timothee Chalamet as a Venusian INFJ based on the above criteria?
To me, he “looks the part” but often acts more like an ExxP at times.
No, I would not. Unlike the INFJs listed here, Chalamet does not have high facial harmony. He is closest to Depp in looks, style, and vibe (Neptunian, Saturnian, Mercurial), but precisely lacking in Depp’s strong Venusian qualities. I would classify Chalamet as a Neptunian INFJ.
Hmm…ok. I just don’t think an INFJ, Neptunian or not, would date someone like Kylie Jenner (lol), or blithely say things like “nobody cares about opera anymore”.
…Unless they’re very much in the grip of their inferior Se.
Just my two cents.
Hmm…ok. I just don’t think an INFJ, Neptunian or not, would date someone like Kylie Jenner (lol), or blithely say things like “nobody cares about opera anymore”.
Why would a Venusian INFJ do those things, but not a Neptunian INFJ?
Blake,
I just need a bit more evidence to be convinced that Timothee Chalamet—and even Johnny Depp—are INFJs. I don’t quite see that subtle coldness and intellectualism in them that I sense in all the INFJs I know, read, or watched. I am not sure about Chalamet, but I tend to agree that Depp is an INFP. I know you have your own intricate, intuitive way of typing people, but surely there are some criteria. Could you please give us a hint?
Give me 3-5 male celebrities that you think are INFP that most closely resemble Depp in your opinion. Then we will have a basis for discussion.
Blake,
That was challenging, I must confess. When I wrote my comment, I used my hunches as a basis, but then I had to do a proper character analysis. Even if I am not particularly satisfied with the counterparts I have found, I hope I’ll be able to jot down some sort of explanation. Of course, I expect you to disagree with me and annihilate some of my premises. And I don’t mind; you are one of the few bloggers who have taught me more about myself than anyone else. Thank you!
I have to say from the beginning that I am still ignorant in many aspects, so I may be using the wrong patterns. I am probably still influenced by the analogy a lot of people make between artsy figures and Fi doms.
It was hard to find celebrities who resemble Depp, because on the one hand, he is quite unique, and on the other, I am not living in the Anglosphere, so I am not aware of a great deal of celebrities out there.
I find some similarities with the following celebrities: Gary Oldman, Heath Ledger, Nicolas Cage, Joaquin Phoenix, and maybe Bob Marley. There is also one INFP YouTuber who came to mind: Matt Sherman from Geek Psychology.
I must say that I have an ENFP friend whose facial traits and mysterious air are remarkably similar to Depp’s (lucky him!), and this also inclined me towards deciding that Johnny is an Fi user.
One thing that strikes me as not particularly INFJesque is Depp’s quirkiness. I can’t be sure if it is a constant role he decided to play early on, some form of protection mechanism, or if he simply has a twisted mind, but I’ve seen him gravitate towards fantasy, whimsy, and weirdness in a way I wouldn’t see the “hard romantic” INFJ do. Also, he doesn’t even like to talk about his roles. Could it be that he truly is a constant drunk, just as he declared?
But I also have counter-arguments for myself. I sense his quite developed Se function. He has no Si whatsoever, and he is not verbose in a Te kind of way. While I was watching an interview he had with Tim Burton (whom I wonder if you consider to be an INFP), the differences were quite clear. They are both weird, but Burton seems more geeky and nerdy than Depp, even a bit autistic. It’s like he lives in a self-created bubble, away from the contaminated reality. Depp seems earthy, human, and warm (is that Fe?). However, I also know INFJs who are very closed-off and cerebral, so I am not sure I am using the correct criterion.
When I mentioned the INFJ’s coldness and intellectualism, I thought about that analytical disposition which is so easy to spot in Ni doms. They look focused and penetrating, even when they are kind. Let’s say the eyes of Dostoevsky, Nick Cave, Andrei Tarkovsky, or Joseph Fiennes come to mind. But Depp’s eyes are rather hazy.
This has become an enigma for me now. The more I think about it, the more arguments I find for both scenarios.

What’s interesting to me about your list is there is a conspicuous absence of Ne-usage. Your list points more to ISFP as a possible type of Johnny Depp, much more than INFP. That is something I can see in Depp. I used to think he was an ISFP.
While I was watching an interview he had with Tim Burton (whom I wonder if you consider to be an INFP), the differences were quite clear.
Yes, Tim Burton is an INFP.
They are both weird, but Burton seems more geeky and nerdy than Depp
That’s Ne!
Depp seems earthy, human, and warm (is that Fe?).
Yes, and some Se too.
However, I also know INFJs who are very closed-off and cerebral, so I am not sure I am using the correct criterion.
Yeah, there are for sure INFJs that are more closed-off and cerebral than Depp, but INFJs have a pretty wide range of manifestations, which is one of the reasons they make great actors and artists, and one of the reasons I’ve split them into ten different types of INFJ, so we can be having this discussion like we’re having here.
Yes, that’s because he’s a Neptunian INFJ, not a Plutonian INFJ like Nick Cave and Dostoevsky, both of whom you list in your next block of commentary.
This is why I listed Depp as a Neptunian INFJ (primarily). Soft focus. Hazy. Mysterious…
This has become an enigma for me now.
Yes, it’s kind of a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma. That’s them Neptunian INFJs for ya.
Good commentary Otium. Very well thought out and presented!
Thank you, Blake!
I can think of nothing more delightful than human enigmas!
ISFP was actually the other option on my mind while I was writing down my answer, but I decided not to digress. And yes, I tend to agree about the apparent lack of Ne in Johnny Depp.
One question, though: Don’t INFPs take different shapes, just as INFJs do? Are they all necessarily geeky? I assume that just as some INFJs neglect or avoid using their Fe function, some INFPs might also not have their Ne function so visibly on display. Could you provide some examples of INFP variations?
I’m going to take a stab at the challenge and thence get egg on my face, considering that I’m nowhere as good as Blake at this typing thing!
I too am not sure if some of the above are INFJs. Ethan Hawke appears to be, and I’m less sure about Keanu Reeves especially after I watched an interview where he was incredibly humble and did everything in his power to turn the spotlight from himself to the interviewer, thence showing Fe??? He also has that existential dread which INFJs are famous for?
In the case of Depp and Cobain, I submit the following candidates for consideration (women seem a good choice seeing that men are more likely to be attached to gender roles?) – Julie Delpy and Lisa Kudrow (INFPs?), and to a lesser extent, audrey tartou and Hepburn and perhaps even Rose Byrne (who I believe is an INFP but doesn’t seem to be typed as such?) .There is one pic in particular of Delpy smoking a cigarette which reminds me of both… also, i dunno, doesn’t Depps goofy role in Pirates of Caribbean remind of an INFP? I just dont see an INFJ being attracted to such a role especially over five movies? Not to say that I’m overly attached to this line of reasoning, my thoughts on the matter are wont to change…and the more I think about it, perhaps Ne would get bored of doing the same role, equally as Fe would?
I also agree with the other comment about the interviews being uncomfortable, as if at any moment they would blush but somehow had the fortitude to compose themselves… (such a phenomenon not evidence of any type by the way, just an observation).
i dunno, doesn’t Depps goofy role in Pirates of Caribbean remind of an INFP? I just dont see an INFJ being attracted to such a role especially over five movies?
What are you kidding me? I count no less than 4 INFJs in that movie:
Johnny Depp: Neptunian INFJ
Kiera Knightley: Venusian INFJ
Geoffrey Rush: Martian INFJ
Jack Davenport: Saturnian INFJ
There, that should keep you busy.
